Praises:

Alena's daughter's first hearing was moved from the federal courts to the municipal courts. Alena and her husband are hoping that the conviction will eventually be removed from her record. There's much rejoicing in this household! Please pray that the Lord's grace and love is accepted by Alena's daughter.

Just wanted to write you a quick note and thank you for all the prayers for Allan. His surgery was a success and he is out of the hospital now. - Peggy

Veronica and Patricia - Please pray for brother Raul deliverance from alcohol, and that he would truly seek Jesus.
Pray for daughter Michelle who is feeling stressed with finishing courses to graduate, and wisdom for whether to take a class or two this summer. Son Nate who will be heading to northern Iraq soon.
Marsha - Please continue to pray for her son Jon who will be home in June. It will be a time of transition for the whole family.
Crystal - Please pray for my boys soccer team, I am still learning the process of coaching.
Katharine - Please pray for my mom (Frances), as she will be having a stint put in on Mon. 28th of March. Please keep my sister Martha in prayer for a resolution for her marital situation. Husband, Doug needs a job. My friend needs prayer for her husband ,Ryan, to want to go to counseling to save their marriage.
Peggy - Please continue to keep Allan in your prayers not only for healing of his physical needs but for a healing of his soul. I am seeing God intervening in many areas of his life. I know we serve an awesome God.

Diana - Prayer for Mrs. Telefoa, the COS woman who left her baby in a bath tub with a 2 year old, while she ran across the street for 10 minutes. Diana has a burden for this mother.
Alena - Please pray for her friend, Bernie, who has liver cancer. It's Alena request that we pray that Bernie would move to understand God's great love for her. The family also needs help with care giving.
Moni - Our son-in-law, Kevin, is scheduled for carotid body tumor surgery on April 7th. Please pray for wisdom and divine intervention.

Praises:

Please thank everyone for keeping Nicholas in their prayers. The test results came back negative for swine flu. Praise God! Nicholas is battling a sever sinus infection. He has sinus polyps. He is still in the hospital and hoping they will release him later today. They have started him on antibiotics to reduce the pain and inflammation around the polyps. He has an appointment with an ENT doctor on Monday. Please continue to pray for healing. - Miros

Diana asked for prayer for Greg, who was hospitalized with the serious H1M1 flu virus. His wife is in the same hospital because of kidney failure. Then, on Monday she called and said thanks for praying. Both Greg & his wife were released from the hospital. - Diana

Peggy - Looking for a job. Her husband Allen has shoulder surgery March 22nd. Her friend, Gayle, is dying of cancer and needs the Lord. Her friend, Nancy, is having her feet amputated after a bad infection.
Veronica - Her brother has an adiction. She is also praying for safe travel for her kids.
Patricia - A friend's son, Aaron, is having his pancreus tested.
Sue - Please pray for my daughter who has had several challenges in her life this year, That God would redirect her heart back to him and soften her heart. God would give her a vision for her future according to his will.
Allison - Her dad, 83, is in the hospital from complications from COPD and is getting worse. Her Mom needs to rest in Jesus and trust the Lord.
Krystal - Her son is in 5th grade and wanted to play coach. But, there was no coach. So, Krystal agreed. She's asking for wisdom and guidance in leadership and coaching.
Veronica S - Her brother, Johnny, who lives alone in Germany just found out he has a tumorous cancer in his abdomen.

Peggy - Her friend, Gayle, had a stroke. She needs to know that there is hope through Christ.
Susie - Heather had reconstructive surgery. Prayers for recovery and healing.

Benita - Prayers for her husband Scott who is in a wilderness with his job.
- Praying for God's will for her friend Melanie and protection for her 2 boys who is in the midst of messy custody issues.

Michelle - Prayer for her friend Stella and her family as her husband Colby passed away from cancer on Tuesday.

Susan - Prayer for her husband who has been out of work for a few months. They need a miracle in the next 3 weeks for work and provisions for their family.

Jennie - Prayer for her sister Cathy (who has Ovarian Cancer) to be an intimate with the Lord. Also, pray for her husband, 2 sons and the rest of their family to deal with this in a Godly way taking their pain to the Lord continually.
- Prayer for her friend, Mary to get sober and to know the healing power of God.

Debbie - Prayer to hear God clearly and to stay on the path the Lord has for her. For her not to get caught up in the drama of life but to set her eyes, heart and mind on the things after God's heart.

• Barb (for a friend of a friend) - Sheri and Mike passed all the requirements at their hearing about the kids they want to adopt. But, the case worker put a contingency on their case that the kids can't know they're being adopted until March 31st and she has to be the one that tells them. So, please keep praying.
• Debbie - Please pray for several women I know who tell me that they are most depressed. They are sad and crying. Please pray for Moni as I make phone calls to try and encourage them.

• Babs - Haley is coming back to her family. She is a "lost sheep". She needs the comfort and forgiveness of her family
• Babs - Son Rob, is doing a semester overseas in London and is feeling very homesick and lonely. He has no time with his studies and class schedule to be in a small group with his church. He needs a good friend.
• Alison - Brother Kerry has a neopathy that is killing him. Healing, he needs to eat, breathing and kidney problems. Pray for his wife Linda for peace and strength.
• Marsha - Son Jon, he will be home in 4 months-pray that his transition will be smooth.

We have gypsy family that just buried a 2 month old baby yesterday due to tragic car accident. This morning another member of the family gave birth to her baby prematurely. The baby has a blod clot on his brain and is not responding.

From Chosen Wednesday night NLC ... Patti's son is doing a lot better. She had to fly out there; but, he is now seeing a counselor and they have put him on different medicines. What a miracle!

Home Going: Katie Donahue went home to be with the Lord. Her and her fiancé' were both loved the Lord while on earth, they are now enjoying His eternal presence together. How wonderful for them but of course how sad for both their parents and loved ones who must adjust to their way too early leaving. Truly they mourn but not as those who have no hope! How wonderful to know we will all be reunited with our believing loved ones. Amen!

Chosen Online:
I am scheduled for parathyroid surgery on Mar. 4 to remove the offending gland causing my osteoporosis. The endocrinologist would settle for no less than Johns Hopkins in Baltimore with the best surgeon for the procedure as I am high risk. It never occurred to me (but did to the doctor) that when I had my left thyroid removed in 1979, the two parathyroid glands were most likely also removed as well. Removing one more would only leave one gland left, which is fine, but leaves no room for mistakes.........! From what I understand, having NO parathyroid glands is not a fun thing to deal with for the rest of one's life. I'd like to add the upcoming surgery and date to the prayer list if possible. - Laurie

Would you all pray for me? In south central Brazil, I will be training (practical and spiritual) the teachers who work with 350 children in the slums and they are expecting God to do much. I am also visiting an orphanage that badly needs help so that the doors don’t close. I need wisdom to see what resources we may be able to provide. They are at the point of having to turn the kids back out into the streets. I need wisdom to know what God wants us to do. My Brazilian team are a beautiful group of Christians and I look forward to spending the next 9 days with them. - Renee

Please pray for Katie Donahue who is a niece of my sister. She and her fiance' were attacked by his uncle when the uncle attacked the entire family while they were celebrating Katie and Jesus engagement. Two family members died at the scene and Katie & her fiance' were attacked and he has since died, The uncle attacked with a blow torch and she has burns all over her body. Pray for her family and her recovery. Her church is praying for all the victums. Thanks. - Bonnie

My husband's pain is back again although he says that it isn't as bad as it was. I know that people say kidney stone pain is as bad as child birth, but I certainly wasn't in labor for 5 days. [Please pray for him.]- Sarah

Urgent prayer is needed from now through Thursday, especially at 10:45 am Thursday (2/10).

My hair stylist, Sheri Vadnais and husband Mike is in the process of adopting 4 children. Their mother is a drug abuser. They have been living with Sheri for almost two years as foster parents. Their final hearing is Thursday at 10:45 am. They have been in a battle with the court system for the past year to legally adopt these kids. It seem that there is another couple interested and also the possibility of them being sent back to their mother who is a single parent. Sheri and Mike have provided abundantly for these kids and they love them and want to care for them and bring them up in a Christian home and surroundings.

Sheri called me this morning and asked that I pray and put her and Mike on my prayer chain for God to intervene and help in this matter. Please all of you pray for these little ones that they get a chance at a better life.

My son is in desperate despair as we speak. He has locked himself up in his apartment and is very very depressed. He has been taking drugs and will not answer the phone or door he is in arizona. He is talking about not wanting to live anymore. My family is there however he will not answer the door or his phone. - Patti

December Prayer Requests

Here are 5 prayers requests. (I think you know that I try to keep our prayer requests updated on our [blog].)

1) Kathleen has a significant debt from school & now from her recent surgery. She is visiting with Peak-Vista on January 13th to see if there's anyway they can help her financially. Will you please pray for the Lord's favor to rest upon her, specifically regarding this meeting.
2) Judy has been fighting various physical attacks. Please pray for her health.
3) Lynn moved back to New York a couple of months back. She loves her COS friends; but, went home to take care for her Mom. She writes, "I have lost my car, am about to lose my home in CO unless I do a short sale and fell on the way to my new job yesterday and broke my left hand.....please lift me up and I will do the same for the other prayer requests."
4) Katharine's Mom is resting well and will have further care with her own doctor when she returns home. Everything is currently stabilized. She's doing a lot of resting.
5) I'm also asking for your prayers. I have had a couple of ultrasounds on my necks and have an appointment with an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist next week. They've found a 2 1/2 centimeter lump in my neck. Please pray that it dissolves.

Please pray for Katharine's Mom. She had the dye put through her heart as her stress test was abnormal. Hopefully this will tell her how she is to proceed. The doc said that he may be able to control with meds or she may need by a bypass. - Katharine

The wife of my mom's oldest brother died today.

Uncle John is not a believer, maybe God can use this to open his eyes.

Please pray for her uncle. Pray he will come to know our Lord and Savior. God can use this death to bring him to His kingdom!

3. Crystal (attends our Wed night Bible study) asked for us to pray:

Pray for a family here in Colorado Springs who's 5th grade son hung himself. His 5 yr old brother found him. He had been bullied at school. He also has an older sister. I left all the information (family name) at work, but God knows who this family is. Please pray for his parents, siblings and friends at school. Pray for the teachers and couselors at school.

for my family, we just lost a dear cousin last week to cancer, just 64 years old. Pray especially for her sister, they were very close.

for my son Rob, who has not been able to find a job since he graduated in May. He has worked only one month through a temp agency. He is getting discouraged. Pray that God would provide for his needs send encouragement, and use these circumstances to draw him back to himself.

For my brother who will be having surgery to have a plate and bone graft in his collarbone. The surgery went well today and he is at home tonight. PTL. Please pray for a quick recovery. - Sue

[Please pray for Li's friend.] As you are all praying and laboring for me ... I had spiritual battles with some evil spirit(s) last fall. I had deliverance in some degree, but I was not able to gain the victory. ... Last night, after waiting upon the Lord for a while, I started proclaiming God's healing on me, then that spirit surfaced. This time, I felt stronger faith in me and I was able to stab it. I am sure that there are more to conquer, but now it is very obvious to me that a spiritual warfare is involved in my illness. For the first time, I have clear glimpse of the praying power that the Lord has given to His disciples and the church. Please continue to pray for God's lead on the situation. - Li

Unemployment will not release the next 4 weeks of checks that I am owed due to the fact that Texas took themself off and untill the Extentions are approved and passed through the senate. PLEASE PRAY! My bills of phone, internet, and electric were to be paid this week and next week the rent and the next the rent again. THERE is no money! I need a miracle as if I don't have a phone, or internet I can't search for jobs! Guys, I have worked so hard in trying to just get a JOB that is all I want. - Debbie

I would like to lift up Bobbie, Rick mom, to the team for prayer today. She recently learned she has a late stage liver disease and the prognosis is not good. She has had compounded health issues that make her an unlikely transplant candidate. Bobbie is currently in the ICU where they are draining fluids and monitoring her condition. Please pray for her body and her emotional and spiritual comfort during this time, for Rick as he prepares to travel to Cleveland to be with family, and for the rest of the family. - Rick via Moni

Got a job finally, at Arnot Medical Center, two blocks from my house...car repoed!!! - Lynn

Thank you all for your prayers! The break was really bad so surgery was required. They put a steel plate in to speed healing. This is my livelihood and I have no insurance so please be praying for speedy and complete healing and God's provision! Everyone please pray for our niece, Madilyn Jordan. She is 15 months old (Jon's brother's little girl) and has just been diagnosed with liver cancer. Yesterday the doctors put a port directly into the tumor in her liver to administer the chemo. The doctors have said it will be at least 6 months to a year of chemo to shrink the tumor to a size they can hopefully remove. Today coming back from New Life he lost consciousness drove off the road at Powers and Dublin hitting a power poll, flipping his car, and putting it in flames. He is OK just a little bruised, the fireman and paramedic (who both go to New Life) said with the condition of the car he should be dead. ... His name is Mike and his wife is Kim they have 6 kids. I am writing to you because I am asking for prayer for something God put in my heart this morning. As you may or may not know, I am planning (God willing) to spend next summer in Pennsylvania and I feel that God wants me to hold a Bible study for a group of ladies, most of whom may have come to Christ a long time ago but are not currently in church. I believe a Beth Moore study is the way God is leading but I want to be absolutely sure as to which one. I'd like to add a prayer request for Gabriel. His dad plans on going to our agency tomorrow (probably when Gabriel has a visit with his mom) to talk with the caseworker. His dad is not allowed to have contact with Gabriel. They set up a plan for me to park by a side door and a woman will pick him up. Since his dad has been in prison for assault with a deadly weapon and there is just one man at the agency and no one to check him for weapons, I'm concerned that Gabriel could be abducted or around lots of yelling (which his dad is known for). I guess they can't afford a security guard for protection against violent parents at foster agencies. [Please pray!] - Steffani

I met a wonderful lady in the check out line at walmart,(where else would I be), this Wednesday. Penny attended the same bible study with me a few years ago. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The Lord has given her a peace about her situation and we are believing Him for healing. Penny has no insuance coverage and cannot afford the usual treatments or surgery. She is fighting against fear. The medical community is pressuring her to get treatment she cannot afford. I know that we have had a few ladies in this battle also, and I was wondering if anyone could share with Penny alternative methods? Penny is so precious and needs our prayers also. Please pray for my two older brothers. One is very dear to me and like a dad. He was in a bad bike wreck over the weekend and has many broken ribs and collar bone and something wrong with his lungs. He was in the hospital today, but heard he might have been released.

My second brother has had a nerve problem with his leg ever since he had back surgery 5 years ago. His whole leg below the knee appears like it has gang green. Now his other leg is beginning to turn black. The Dr's in pueblo have not been able to find a solution for it. Last week it began to open and ooze. He was put in the hospital tonight to see if they can help him. They also think he has a gall bladder problem. He has heart problems and is not yet 60 yrs old. He is not saved. Please pray for he and his family to come to the Lord.

[I] had to take this fall off as mom and I are now house hunting for a new house to rent – we are receiving my grandma who is almost 91 to come live with us. My oldest aunt can not longer take care of her and so we have the privilege of taking her in. My niece, Megan, is 37 years old. Last Thursday she was taken by ambulance to the hospital, they thought is was just an inner ear problem. She could not stand up and was throwing up if she was moved at all. Yesterday the doctors told her that she had a stroke. In the back of her brain and there is damage that effects her eyes, ears and balance. They are not sure why the stroke happened, so they cannot keep it from happening again. Right now she is still in the hospital, she cannot stand or walk very well with the balance problems. They are having her try to walk with a walker. Please pray for her and my sister, Sally, her mom. She is staying with her at the hospital and my sister lost her husband 20 years ago to cancer so hospitals bring back many bad memories. - Dana

Girls I know this is a crazy prayer but I can't stand bugs of any kind and I am having problems with ants...in the bath room as that is where I keep the dog food! Where in the world do they come from as this is a brand new apt and I haven't figured out where the are coming up from. I am on the THIRD floor! I had trouble with spiders before! I did have the guy spray for the ants before but not in the bathroom never thought of it as where would they come from the wood work? I have removed the food and placed it in the kitchen however, when I am gone it has to go in the bathroom for Winston as he is in Doggy daycare there! However, they still do not know why she is having the symptoms that led them to believe it was her gallbladder, so she still needs prayer about that. I just got off the phone with my daughter in Denver who was at her OB appointment today (6 months pregnant with her second child), and found out she not only has most likely developed diabetes, but also because of intermittent pain in her upper abdomen accompanied by vomiting, will most likely be found to have a diseased gall bladder which will need to be surgically removed. She is quite shocked and scared. I would be up there now if I could be, so you can imagine how I feel as well --- just when I had a pretty good day, having resolved to change my attitude about being here instead of in CO (again). My son recently was unjustly (really) fired from his job. He was transferred from his office in Las Vegas to the Seattle area almost a year ago with the understanding that he would be moving into a VP position within the year as there were problems with operations possibly connected to the current VP there who was to become my son's boss. They chose my son to go because of his great management skills and ability to work well with people and problem situations. Apparently, his boss felt threatened by my son (rightly so), and decided he needed to go, citing "poor job performance". The bosses above this VP assured my son that they did not agree with this decision, but for some reason, this boss seems to have an uncanny way of making sure he stays and everyone else goes, as this is not the first time this has happened. Something is very wrong with this whole situation. I've talked my son into being persistent in pursuing answers from the upper management about this. Would you please pray that whether my son is vindicated in this, or not, that he find another job QUICKLY, as his financial situation is not the best right now, and will not sustain him for long. - Laurie

He recently graduated from college, my daughter has been working full time at a pretty low paying job, they have three small children, and Grammie (me) is not there to help with things like babysitting or transportation to school while my son-in-law has possible interviews. Doug's brother, Eric, was in a terrible car accident yesterday morning. He is paralyzed from the chest down. He's being told that there is irreparable damage to the spine. They are believers. Prayer for Moni's friend, Stacey:
On Monday, Stacey and her parents met with her oncology radiologist and really liked him and his staff. He scheduled a PET scan scheduled with those results he will determine the amount of radiation that is needed and the frequency, etc. On Tuesday the surgeon confirmed that everything about her surgery and prosthetic looks great! He also believes that the radiation should eliminate/reduce the pain she is still having in her lower back. This encouraged her greatly, but she is very cautious to set her hopes on that. Please keep praying!

My mom passed away last Thursday. Lisa and I are leaving for Japan tomorrow morning (7/26~8/3). Her funeral will be on Wednesday at her church. Could you pray for peace, strength and protection? Along with my daughter's divorce, I've been emotionally drained. Yet, I'm so thankful that God allowed us to see my mom in April and she's no longer in physical bondage. She's free indeed in heaven now! She must be dancing around and singing joyfully before the throne of grace!! She was confined to bed and not able to talk for too many years. ... Please continue to pray for Stacey, Moni's friend. The incision from her second back surgery is not healing as well as it could—one side of the incision is healing great and the other side is not doing so hot. She met with the doctors yesterday – there is no infection, but they are going to put a wound vac on this incision Friday. Stacey is discouraged. She also continues to deal with pain in her lower back region that the team of doctors has not been able to pin-point the cause. This is not due to any disc problems – the back surgery has been deemed successful. We need to pray for insight on this so that they know how to treat her. Currently, they have her on lots of pain meds. - Moni

Please pray for Jill as she shares Christ with a friend. Recently she wrote, "Wondered if you could pray for me today? I am meeting up with a friend (Betsy) in Boulder today at 1:30. She was a flower girl in our wedding. Last I heard, she is not walking with God right now. She plans to move to San Francisco in a few days. Pray that God would shine his light in her heart, mind and spirit. Pray that our time together would be led by Him! Pray this prayer from Eph. 1:17-19."

My niece is ~ 6 months pregnant w/ her 5th baby…a little boy. Sonograms have show that his brain in not developed…1/3 of it missing. Doctors have told her if he lives, he will be a total invalid….they have given her the choice to terminate the pregnancy. She and her husband both are Christians and I doubt that they make that choice … but they’ve got 4 little ones at home, all under 8 and I’m sure that ‘choice’ is inviting. Please pray for them and their little boy….for the whole family. - Unanimous

Thank you all for your prayers. Britta came home on Monday and is still cramping but the contractions are very far apart. She is continually on bedrest right now. Chris and Britta are moving into an apartment in Suprise on Saturday. Unforunately they don't have a 1st floor available so they will be on the second floor. Chris was pretty stressed tonight worrying about bills, finding cheap furniture, taking care of Britta and working full time. I told him, welcome to adulthood. Britta is now 31 weeks. The Dr is hoping that Britta can get to at least 32 weeks. She may go even further...with prayer!!! She has to go in 3 times a week. Once to the Dr, once to get the babies monitored for 30 minutes for their heart rate and once for an ultrasound.

I guess it is also me that would like prayer. I am exhausted. I didn't get to go home this week. My mom is walking like a "drunken sailor" as she is very unsteady on her feet...so I am trying to make her stay put and helping run around for her. Dad is not doing great on Dialysis...it makes him nauseaus and very tired. Britta had her appts and I am the only one with a car. So I need to do the errands, pick up the groceries, etc...and I work late, so when I have to get up early I get tired for the rest of the day. I know this is only for a "season" and knowing that my help is appreciated is what keeps me going. My cousin Cindie has been a God-send. She has been very helpful with Britta my mom and dad.

Well, once again, I am reaching out to family and friends for Prayer. Britta went into premature labor on Monday night. She is due in August with identical twin boys. She was contracting about every 2-3 minutes. They were sure she would deliver yesterday, but God kept those little guys in there.

This morning a nurse accidently gave Britta a huge dose of her heart medicine. (It helps to slow her heart rate) Once they discovered it, they quickly got her up to the CICU(cardiac). They had to put in a line from her neck to her artery so that if her heart slowed down too much they could resusitate her and put in a pacemaker type device. She had about 6 Dr's working on her all at once...between, toxology, cardiac & crisis pregnancy. They brought up the equipment needed for a delivery too just in case they would need to deliver the babies. It was overwhelming to Britta. She was a real trouper though. Chris helped her along every step of the way. My cousin Cindie was a God-send helping out also. She stayed with Britta overnight the first night and then went and helped out by picking up my father from his dialysis. (his first day there) Having the overdose heart medicine was a blessing in disguise. It actually did nothing to Britta or the Babies hearts, but actually stopped the contractions. Praise the Lord! Now the drug is wearing off and the contractions are coming back. Pray that she can keep these boys in her at least until Friday when she is 30 weeks. The crisis pregnancy Dr. and nurse told me that they've given her a steroid to mature the lungs. I guess tonight at 11p is when she is done with the "window" which I think means the babies have a greater chance of survival should they be born. Please pray for her and the babies. - Mel (6/2)

Mike was put on a ventilator yesterday. He has been in ICU since Thursday evening due to infection/pneumonia. Because of the chemo he still has very low white blood cells so cannot fight this infection. Antibiotics have not made better only kept from getting worse. At the rate he was going he would die w/in two or three days. Only chance was to put on vent and breathe for him until white blood cells begin to build again~~which should be Thursday. He has been very confused the past week or so but when I explained to him what our choices were he did say we should take the chance at life and trust that God was in control. I wanted to update the ladies about for journey with my new friend named "Cancer". I am actually at the Outpatient Cancer Center in Memorial receiving my first dose. It will be along day since it is my first one. One of the drugs they use affects the heart and so they want to push it slow. I came in at 9 and should be done in 6 hours. .... We are in hospital again. Came straight here yesterday from Doctor's visit. Some new developments---cancer is growing extremely fast--going to start 5-day chemo treatment on Friday. Working w/ Doctors from MD Anderson along w/ oncologist here @ Memorial. We are scared--but we are saying as Job did "Though he slay me, still I will hope in HIM". Please pray for a dear, Christian friend, who has been diagnosed with non-alcoholic sclerosis of the liver. They drained 8 liters of water out of his stomach sometime back. But, the fluid is back. The doctors have no solution. The water affects his esophagus. The doctor said that the small arteries will keep getting smaller until they burst and he bleeds to death. He's asking for prayer.

Please pray for Marta (one of our faithful Guatemalan women's teachers) has a growing mass on her throat. She had surgery last week, but the doctors were only able to get part of the mass out as it has developed roots that have intertwined with her vocal chords. Removal could mean loss of the ability to speak and would also be possibly life threatening. A biopsy was taken and doctors are waiting for word as to whether the mass is cancerous or benign, and will go from there. She is seeking all of the prayer possible! - Beth, missionary to Guatemala

Please pray for a dear, young friend, Stacey, who has been fighting cancer for a year. She has recently faced another surgery and cannot get deliverance from the pain. With everything happening in this home, Stacey's mother has just found lumps in her breast and is scheduled for doctor's appointments. Please pray specifically for Stacey: She is in constant back pain from a bulging disk. No medication is touching the pain and it is causing her frequent spells of nausea. It is my understanding that nothing can be done for the disk at this time. Please pray for the miraculous. Stacey is discouraged. Pray for joy and hope in the midst of this trial. Because of the ice, they were rear-ended by another car, which had spun out of control. None of the ladies were hurt in anyway!!! What a blessing! Thank the Lord for His keeping power!!

Can you pray for Patrick tonight in your bible study? Patrick is the 10-year old son of a lady we work with in Pittsburgh. I have met with her a couple of times and I have been on many phone calls with her over the years.

Tracy called with an update on Patrick and the news is not good.

On Thursday, they learned that the chemo does not appear to be working. His neuroblastoma is getting worse. While the tumor near Patrick's eye seems to be getting smaller, there is evidence of tumor invading the skull.

The liver is worse and the tumor bed shows signs of regrowth - and it has spread to the lining of the abdomen. The indications are that the cancer is spreading and getting worse and their current chemo regimen isn't working. They are going to start trying some different chemo this week, but the doctors say they are running out of options. The doctors even advised Tracy and Steve that stopping treatment was an option if they thought Patrick has been through enough. I'm sure that Tracy and Steve can't even imagine giving up hope. The doctors are consulting Children's in Philadelphia and Memorial in New York looking for other treatment options that might help, including experimental treatments. There might even be a treatment
option here in Pittsburgh, but Tracy is not sure if Patrick would qualify for it.

The O'Brien family continues to appreciate all the support and prayers for Patrick and their family. Please continue to lift them up, especially in this difficult time.

Please read below and include my nephew, Trevor, and his family in your prayers. For those of you who don't know, Trevor was born with a rare brain disorder, Sturge Weber Syndrome, which required him to have a functional hemispherectomy of his brain when Trevor was 9 y.o. He is currently 13 and has not been able to use his right arm for functional activities since the surgery. This is a great opportunity for him and the family, but will require significant patience and hard work on everyone's part. My concern is that insurance may believe that too much time has elapsed since his surgery to approve the Constraint induced Therapy described below. However, I know the power of prayer, so I would appreciate it if you think of it, please pray for this situation. Thanks!

Children's Hospital has offered Trevor a position in a therapy program they have. It is called CIT or Constraint Induced Therapy. The program provides intensive training of his right arm by constraining his left (non-affected)arm with a cast. His arm would be casted for 3 weeks and therapy would be for 3 hours a day. Pray insurance would give us a referral for this and fast as the program starts Monday March 8. Also for Rana and I to work with Trevor - it would be like after his surgery when he needed help with everything from eating, dressing, ect. - the cast stays on for the full 3 weeks and as you know he currently can't use the right hand. We need to also work with the school as he would not be able to write, would need help going to the bathroom and everything in between.

This is great opportunity, but will be a lot of work and not a lot of time to get things together. He is not thrilled about the idea so that is a concern as well.

A little newborn baby girl, Cassidy, has problems. Last week she was moved to Denver Children's Hospital. She has a hole in her heart and is having serious problems eating. She is getting all feeding from the IV tubes, which is enough to keep her going, but doesn’t help her growth much. Please pray for Cassidy's healing. - Moni

Praise ... [Regarding my concern about my eyes,] I am very happy to report, that I am nothing more than getting old! The doc said, they are floaters. Irritating, but nonetheless, inocuous. Whooooohoooo! I thought I had cancer of they eye, have fretted about it for years, actually, (I have a friend that is an oncology nurse, that honestly had me terrified). So goes the saying, " A little information in the wrong hands can be dangerous." So, no glaucoma, no cancer, no torn retina. He says it looks really healthy in there, and just use readers for another couple of years. whoooo! God is good! Thank you for praying for me. You are all such a blessing. - Shelley

I have a friend, Stacey, who is fighting her 3 bout with cancer. Would you please pray for her? She just had surgery last week. Here are her prayer requests:

Praise: Physical Therapy (PT) has been going amazingly well; though Stacey has been in pain during her sessions mostly due to nerves healing after their trauma in surgery.

Prayer Request:
> Stacey has developed an oozing infection along the incision line. They have just found this, so the Dr. is postponing anymore PT for the next few days in hopes that the infection will dry-up. Please pray that the infection would be brought under control and eliminated AND that Stacey would continue to be infection free.

I’ve had a problem for the last couple of months w/ my feet going numb periodically. In the last 2 weeks it has progressed rapidly to the point that they are numb most of the time and it seems to move up my legs now and again. I’ve been to the doctor. He’s ordered more tests… He called it peripheral neuropathy- sensory. We already know it’s not diabetes…my blood tests were good. - Marsha

I am leaving to my mission's trip to Saint Petersburg, Russia this January 23rd. I was asked to bring small bibles NKJ version with me and also books: Spirit, Soul and Body from Andrew Wommack. I do not have any income right now and all my savings are gone. I would like if you could tell the ladies within our group that if they want to bless someone in Russia and sew some seed into my mission there, I will really appreciate all the monetary help I can get. Jan 7th Update - Thanks to all who prayed for me, my biopsy went well without a problem, the pathology report showed pre-cancerous cells and not cancer. I am praising the Lord for that. I will have a hysterectomy in 3 weeks. - Sue

Some recent medical tests have shown I have pre cancerous cells in my uterous. I will have a biopsy done this Wednesday to determine if they are pre cancerous or cancer. My Doctor is recomending a hysterectomy as soon as possible either way. This has been very stressful as my mom just came home from the nursing home and still needs alot of care. I would appreciate prayers for healing and wisdom. - Sue

Dear family and friends,

We wanted to give you a brief update regarding Parker and his vision. He has gone awhile without any procedures being done which is good. Parker and both of his folks are enjoying a little time without Drs. appointments. In January he will undergo an exam under anesthesia to determine if the retina is reattaching and to decide the next steps to take. Those steps consist of cornea transplants and cataract surgeries for both eyes. We believe God has brought the right team of Drs. together in both Denver and Detroit to resolve Parkers issues and provide him with improved vision.

[See the] picture of Parker on Christmas Day. It looks to me as if he is ready to start his first job as a newsboy!!!! Their is ... a fundraiser being organized by friends and co-workers of Lucas and Natalie. It is being held a week from this Saturday and consists of a number of activities including the auction, see the flyer for more details. For you who love to play golf and stay somewhere for a couple of days there are two items I specifically want to mention. The Broadmoor Hotel is donating a two night stay and two rounds of golf and a private couple is providing a get-a-way weekend to the Leadville area. If you are not able to attend but would like to make a donation you may do so. Checks should be made out to Cops for Kids, with "Donation for Parker Ebaugh" in the memo line. 12/28/09 Update -

Praise! Thank you for your prayers for my son, his teacher approved him to take another class to replace the one that he failed next spring, so will be able to graduate in the spring as planned. He is doing better and has handled this better than I expected, more proof of God's working in his life. This has been a hard semester for him, he had H1N1 and missed a bunch of school and we were all concerned that my mom might not make it with her injuries. God is good to intervene. - Sue

My son Rob who is 31 has had behavioral issues all of his life that have caused him many problems. In the last 5 years he has really tried to turn his life around and gone back to school to get an engineering degree. He had all of his requirements to graduate in the spring done this semester. He just found out he flunked the one class needed to graduate. and it will not be offered til next fall. He has worked very hard and gone without for 5 years and stayed out of trouble. Please pray that God would have mercy and show favor to him in this situation and give him a solution and peace. - Sue

I have a dear friend who is fighting cancer. She is facing the 3rd round of surgery. The surgeons have decided to do the less invasive of the 2 surgeries. They plan on taking out the area where the cancer is and then doing radiation treatments to contain it there. The radiation will be done in January.......She will call later with more specifics, but this is truly an answer to prayer since the other scenario was much more radical and traumatic. ~Jan. 5th Update: Just wanted to let you guys know that we made it to Rochester, NY without any problems! It was snowing, but thankfully, we made it without any issues! whew! We made it from Dan's parent's house to the extended stay hotel (We're staying here until we find a place) in just about 5 hours and 15 minutes! Not bad at all =) You're all welcome to visit us anytime! We'll be house-searching starting tomorrow with our real estate agent, so we'll keep you updated on how it goes. - Sarah

I wanted to ask for your prayers. As you know, we left on Wed night for our road trip back to Philadelphia for the holidays. The plan was to get home by Saturday afternoon, but unfortunately I got into a car accident on saturday on our way home along the Pennsylvania Turnpike due to the horrible snow/blizzard we were experiencing.

Thank GOD none of us were hurt! My car spun out of control over the snow and then i was able to regain control when all of a sudden another car that had spun out of control trying to avoid us crashed into my right side head on. it was very scary, and the air bags deployed, but thank God, no one was hurt and we all walked out unscathed except just a little sore from the impact.

After waiting for a few hours for the police, tow truck, and ambulance to arrive at the scene, we were finally able to check into a hotel and then my husband and I were able to make it to the nearest Emergency Room to make sure I and the baby were 100% ok. They did an ultrasound, and baby is doing a-ok! (Sorry, Miros! I'm not sure if you heard this, but I'm pregnant! i'm just about 10weeks and 4 days along now!)

Well, anyways, this whole insurance process is a headache...and not sure if the police report states if I'm at fault or not...but please pray for us that we'll get home safely for the remainder of our trip (about 250 miles from here to home) and that all the insurance and paper work will work out smoothly. Also, my car is pretty much totalled...so I guess that everything will work out according to God's will. I know that everything is according to His timing and nothing occurs out of His control and Sovereignty, so we're trying to stay calm and relaxed and enjoy the time at home during the holiday time.

Thank you guys again for everything! I'm so thankful that I have sisters who i can really rely on for prayers when i really need it... love you guys and miss you guys so much! I will try to update again real soon - Sarah

p.s. we'll be leaving tomorrow am with a rental car back to Philadelphia, and then waiting to hear about the car when the adjuster is able to see my car at the tow company. I'll let you guys know what they say.

Hi everyone. I almost hate to send this out so openly to everyone I know but I need some support and you all are closest to us and I wanted to ask.

Scott has suddenly become very sick with a very aggressive cancer and I would like to begin a prayer chain for him. I think it would really comfort him to know people all over the world are praying for his strength and healing. We are boldly asking for complete eradication of the cancer and restoration to his previous health and capability. Though it appears dark right now, I know this is not too difficult for God.

I am asking if you would join my family in a round-the-clock prayer for him. Please agree to pray for 15 or 30 minutes at the same time each day until we can get an answer from the Lord. Please feel free to share this request with your community of friends and family and with your prayer groups. I know with all of the different time zones we cover, we can complete the circle and pray over him for 24 hours each day. As you know, Dan and I will be leaving the Colorado area fairly soon. In fact, we've already moved out of the army housing and are staying with our friends who live in Colorado Springs until we move to our next destination. We are feeling a bit overwhelmed by this transition because there are many different decisions that need to be made and we feel uncertain about where God is leading us next. Dan has been working with a transition recruitment firm that assists military officers out of active duty and setting them up with corporate jobs around the nation. So far, Dan has received two job offers which are both very promising and great opportunities. However, they are not in Philadelphia and our hearts were somewhat set on going back home to settle.

One was with PACTIV (a packaging company) in Jacksonville, Illinois and though it sounds like a great job, the area is more rural than to our liking and we just don't feel like it would be a good fit for us. The other is QUALITROL (an energy company) in Rochester, NY and it's closer to home, and i believe there are some really great church communities around there, so this seems like a better option for us.

Thanks for your prayers I waited to give an update because when Lon was telling me what happened we were texting and both of us did not quite understand the system and none of what he told me made any sense. He really did not know what was going on when he went to court. It was a pre-sentencing hearing where he only had to plea, which he plead guilty. He will go again next week his choice of Mon, Tues or Thur to get sentenced and will go to jail from there. He was talking about going Thur so he can wrap up some loose ends (he just moved from an apt to a house with 2 other guys closer to campus). So if he goes then and gets two weeks he will be out on Christmas Eve, not sure morning or evening. I am going to encourage him to go in Tues cause I may be able to get him on Wed and bring him back to the Springs for Christmas:) He still has that suspended license. So still lift him up mostly that his mind will be open and his heart will soften to the Lord. And of course for protection while in jail. Thank you for your prayers, love you all. - Jodi (12/6/09)

Please lift my son Lonnie up in prayer today. He is going to court for driving with a suspended license (it was suspended when he got a DUI earlier this year). It sounds like he will be going to jail, the length of time is what is in question. Either 2 or 4 weeks. He has actually asked me to pray for him as we have been talking this through. He put it like this, "I guess you better pray for me". But, that gave me the opportunity to tell him the bible says when 2 or more are gathered in His name your prayer will be heard. We were chatting last night and I asked what he wanted for Christmas and he said freedom. God again gave me opportunity to share His Word with my son. You guessed it, Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

Pray for fair judgement, I believe 2 weeks is plenty of time, I plan on going to see him after he is there for a week. It would be nice if he didin't have to go but I think he might get some reveletion while there, that is my prayer. Of course if he is sentenced I ask for protection I have no idea what can happen. If God wants to reveal Himself and Lonnie doesn't have to go to jail I can tell him, we prayed for you when the sentence is nothing or light. Some of you may know about the time he couldn't move and we were texting back and forth. Finally I got a text message that said, Weird, I don't know what happened, I can suddenly move. And I got to say, I prayed for you.

Parker will have surgery at 8AM EDT (6 AM MDT) Wednesday. Surgery will last at least 3 hours and possibly longer. They will remove as much scar material from between the retina and its mating surface, then inject a bubble of silicon oil into the eye to hold the retina in place so it can attach. According to Lucas this will be the first of possibly four trips to this Dr. because this work is not usually able to be completed in one surgery. [Please pray.] - Linda

I would just like to leave a prayer request for my mom who is 85. My brother found her on the floor of her home yesterday. She had fallen and hit her head on the table. We think she had been there for 2 days. We all feel horrible. We have a large family and communication broke down that no one knew she had not been in contact with some one. I have some wonderful news. I have met the man of my dreams and have become engaged to be married. He is wonderful to me and is a strong man of God. We have been attending New Life together for a few weeks now and he really likes Brady. He is a former Pastor and is going for reordination. It is all so fantastic I can heardly believe it. We are in pre-marital counseling starting Friday morning. Please share this news with the others. My life is going to be forever changed! The wedding date is Nov. 14. Yes, Phyllis...I named her after my mother-in-law because she was a beautiful strong woman, she helped us buy the car and I wanted something to remind me of her after she passed away. With Glenn and I out of work for so long, we are getting dangerously close to losing our home. If that is Gods will, so be it! But we feel we need to sell whatever assets we have to come up with the back late payments. The only viable asset for us to cash in is my cute little car Phyllis.

My prayer is that God will bring the perfect buyer and they will offer us what we need and that the car will be as much a blessing to them as it has been to me.

There's been alot of praising singing to the radio with my hands out the moonroof in the car. Yup...some people thought I was nuts...but sometimes the spirit moves us in mysterious ways! hahahaha I love my little Phyllis! I am also asking again for prayer that we find jobs. We have been applying for just about any job we can do just so we can be employed. I know God has a plan for us, but I just wish he would let us know what it is! haha I look at this as an adventure...a scary one, but an adventure none the less~! Friends, Just sending out a prayer request for my brother John from San Fransisco. He is an avid swimmer and actually swam the English Channel, for which I am so proud of him. He is in a swimming relay this weekend to raise awareness for the environmental conditions of the San Fransico Bay. HE is a member of the SF Bay dolphin club located just a little ways from Girhadelli Square, for any who have been to San Franscisco. These crazy guys and gals swim in the cold bay water every day and do things like swim to Alcatraz from the bay! My brother and 6 other members of the Dolphin club are doing a 100 mile relay from Sacramento to the Fisherman's wharf area of San Fransisco to raise awareness of the extreme polution coming from the Sacramento river into the bay.They will be swimming or rowing 40 hours straight taking turns either in the rowboat or in the water.Tonight will be the most difficult stretch in the mouth fo the river and through the bay at night. I have a prayer request for my son who is in school at CSU. He had many problems after high school and got into trouble. It is God that he is even in school and getting a degree. He is not living for God but, we have seen a huge turn around in his life since he started school. This is his last year at school for him to graduate with an engineering degree. He just found out his FAFSA form got sent to the wrong school and he has missed out on financial aid and his work study job, it is too late to apply for student loans. He is 30 so ready to be out of school and very dissapointed. Please pray that God would work something out and work in Rob's heart that he will not become bitter, but see that God is for him. First, I was able to attend a class reunion and talked to an old friend who just found out he has a lung disease that can be terminal. I was not able to talk to him long enough to find out where he stands with the Lord. He expressed he has peace if it is his time to go, so I am hoping he does know the Lord. But, his wife was very upset about it all. Please pray for both of their souls and his healing, and that God would give her peace as well. His name is Joed, but I don't remember hers. - Sue 8/11

Please pray that I would hear God's direction concerning school this fall. I am still unsure if I should continue to take classes to get my teaching license, and if I do where I should go. If I am to go on, I I would like to take a break for a semester, as I have been feeling so tired. At my age, it doesn't seem to be the best thing to be taking breaks, or I will never get done!. Mom is doing a little better. Her progress is slow and whether rehab, or nursing home, it is the luck of the draw to get out in better shape than you went in. Sometimes, it is so incredibly inefficient, I don't understand how anyone makes it home. She is still with a trach, a feeding tube, and a cath. All pushing, pulling, bleeding, and draining. It's so miserable for her, but, as we tell her, it would be harder to die than to get better. Taking into account, that one more bad weekend and we could go out with her. ... thank you all so much for your prayers. We couldn't make it without them. We still drive 3 hours a day to see her, and try to make sure that she is not falling out of bed, or lying in the same position for long, choking on who knows what, or just heard. Mom is more aware and on oxygen, a feeding tube, catheter and very much aware of what hurts. She is completely immobile, at the mercy of overworked nurses, not have the time to turn her properly. So, my sister and I do. We drive one way an hour and half everyday, and I am about to collapse. I just need prayer for strength and wisdom. Living with sis and her husband. They are generous. As many of you know, my mother-in-law passed away last week and a couple of weeks before that we had to put our dog, Buddy, down. Well, tonight we found out that our cat, Ezra, has kidney failure and is in the animal hospital. They are giving her fluids and medication to try and reverse it. She accidently got into some ibuprofen and we think this is what caused the kidney failure. Please pray that they can reverse it, especially for the kids. They have lost their dog and one of their Grandmothers in a few weeks time. I don't want them to have to go through another loss so soon. They love that cat and would be devastated if she dies. I am emotionally drained and exhausted and need prayer. - Amy

Hi all, I just applied for the Manager of Crew Administration Resources at US Airways...It is exactly what I did for Champion Air in Minnesota...I really hope I get this one. The pay is really good. I sent a note to Peggy, my old boss, to see if she could pull any strings for me and you will never believe my nerve....I also sent one to Bonnie(Director) and David(Manager) of HR. I told them that they both said they would do what they could for those of us that lost their jobs and was holding them to it. I told them how great I was for the position and requested an interview, because I am an ideal candidate. I have all of the expertise in Crewqual, Crewtrac, Crewplan and Flitetrac that is required. I meet and most of the time, exceed the expectations and requirements of the job, so If I don't get an interview...something is whack!! or I suppose, it's just not what God has for me!?! My husband, Jim, will not be having surgery on Tueday, July 21st. He had to post pone the surgery because his Mom just passed away unexpectedly. We just found out last night. July 19th Update from Shelley

Alot of this happened so quickly that I didn't even get a chance to tell some of you what happened. So, I'm going to try to fill you in. Mom was rushed to Albuquerque with a torn aorta. Only 20% of those making it to surgery, survive it. Mom is one of those 20%. Three weeks later, she can open one eye, nod yes and no, and surprisingly seems to be happy to be here, inspite of dialysis every other day, 40% oxygen on a ventilator delivered through a trach, and tubes running every where. She will be moved to a facility, hopefully closer to Socorro soon, but not with much hope of being in much better condition. So, whether we have 10 days, 10 months, or even 10 years, we have no idea.

I'm still here in NM, unsure of how long I will be here. One good bit of news, the migraines have decreased to such a degree, that I am incredibly functional. A couple have lasted a few hours, without any heavy meds. With all this stress, we are all expecting for my head to blow up, and it just isn't happening. I knew the elevation in CO. was bad, but I forgot how it was to not be in constant pain, and am totally wowed by God's grace in allowing me to be functional and without debilitating migraines at this time.

Thank you all so much for all your prayers. It's a gift unmeasurable, but totally appreciated.

Shelley's Mom is in ICU. She made it thru surgery. She has blood in the lungs, which needs to be healed. The doctors told them that her mom was 20 minutes from death and that most adults Shelley's Mom's age in that condition don't make it. However, Shelley sees the Lord's keeping power in all of this. Continue to pray for her Mom.

I am still here in Texas and will be here until June 20th. I wanted to keep you updated as to how the Lord continually blesses me. Because I am spending more time in Texas this trip, I decided to go visit my friend Peter; (the one that I mentioned to you that is a former co-worker and is in a prison in Texas). As you know, I am retired and like every retiree am always broke. I can't afford to fly there so a friend is lending me an automobile to get there. (it is about 7-1/2 hours from my daughter's house). Then I was extremely worried thinking of lodging and have been searching on the internet for a cheap motel near the correctional center. Everything is very expensive so I had crazy thoughts of sleeping in the car. I know! it sounds crazy but I was determined to go even risking sleeping in the car. Well anyways, a friend from Florida called and hooked me up with a Baptist ministry that is about 1 mile from the correction center. It is Baptist Church with a ministry for the inmates and next door to the church there is free lodging for those visiting the inmates. I am so grateful for so many blessings. Please pray for me so that I have a safe trip. I am leaving tomorrow morning and hope to head back on Sunday. Praise the Lord!!!!! Love to you and all the Bible study ladies. - Magda

We have heard from Lucas and Natalie about Parker's Drs. appt. in Denver. Parker will have eye surgery tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. This is to relieve the pressure in his eyes, the pressure should be between 10 and 20, Parker's is at 45+. At this time the Dr. can not see much in the eyes because of the high pressure. Sometime after the pressure is relieved he will be able to look through the eye and see if the retina or optic nerve has been damaged. The doctor thought he could see some iris but not sure how much. This will become more evident when the pressure is lowered. The iris issue is part of the Aniridia problem where the iris may be totally missing or is partially missing. The three of them will stay Thursday night at St. Luke's Presby Hospital in Denver. Please continue your prayers and thoughts for Parker, Natalie and Lucas. - Brent & Linda

On Wednesday (6/3) my uncle Mike, age 50, (from Sturgis, MI) fell off a ladder at his job site and was critically injured. He has been unconscious and unresponsive (on a respirator) since the accident. One side of his brain had been pushed into the other side and the 6th cervical vertebrae was fractured. This morning the CT scan shows increased fluid in the base of the brain around the brain stem and surgery is needed to drain that off – this is not a good sign. .... just got an update from one of my aunts in Michigan. The EEG showed no activity at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time today. My aunt Darlene spent individual time with each of the kids and Mike, and then she, the kids, and Mike's family made the decision to have the respirator turned off. My missionary friend Jenny had a bad accident where she burned her foot with boiling water. Now they just operated her in the Afganistan military hospital and they did skin crafts on her foot. The pain is so bad that no pain killers seem to help her. Today they'll find out if the operation was successful. - Maarti

My son, Aaron, hurt is knee playing softball on Sunday (5/31), went to the orthopedic doctor yesterday and is having surgery late this afternoon (4:30 it is scheduled 6/3) to repair his meniscus. He has a long history of problems with this right knee. Had ACL and meniscus repair 10 years ago when he was just 14 (injured while playing basketball) and it has been a problem again off and on the last couple of years and then Sunday he really hurt it. Please pray for a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. - Debbie

Young Life is for lost kids who don't go to church and who don't know Jesus yet so camp is a week jam packed with fun, surprises, and most importantly the foundations of the gospel. They hear the basics and then us leaders keep the ball rolling once we get home through the summer and school year. Basically a week for kids to be loved on by God (even though many of them don't understand or get that part yet), by leaders, and shown that you CAN have fun without drinking, partying, etc.There will be roughly 400 campers from all over the country just the one week we'll be there. Ed and Aaron will be leading the guys cabin and Sarah and I will be leading the girls for our area.

We leave this Sunday the 31st and will get back late Sat night the 6th. ... [Please] pray for us, especially in the middle of the week (Wednesday/Thursday), because that is normally when the spiritual warfare gets pretty intense. For us leaders the early morning meetings and staying up late talking with our girls during cabin time starts to catch up with us. It's also when "the sin talk" is given by the speaker where he or she explains what sin is why they may feel so hopeless, alone, etc. And how there's nothing they themselves can do to fix it. They're given 24 hours to wrestle with that while being loved on and surrounded by us leaders as we swim in the pool, go on the ropes course, ride horses, etc. and then the amazing news is shared of Jesus and the cross. So you can imagine the kind of antics the enemy tries during this time to try and keep the kids from hearing and accepting the good news. - Jenny

Preston Lloyd - 4 years old was ran over by a lawn mower yesterday afternoon and is in critical condition at CAMC children's hospital in Charleston, WV. [The family asks] ... for prayer. They have done some patch surgery- just enough to try and stabilize him until they decide what to do next. His stomach is ripped out, he has lost his spleen and 1 kidney and his arm is crushed. Well, imagine our surprise when Kurt got a phone call late this afternoon from Julie saying they were almost to the world prayer center at New Life Church. ... To make a very long and complicated story short, New Life Church brought the team home early because of sickness. There were several in the group that were sick. It began with only one or two but seemed to be expanding so by the time they came home there were 6 or more that were sick. As I understand it, it is the church's policy that when this takes place (more than 2 or 3 are sick)that they bring the team home. This was especially the case for Honduras because medical treatment is not readily available. Julie is NOT one of the sick ones for that we are thankful and all of those who were sick have been seen in the U.S. and it was determined that it was not swine flu or H2N2 or whatever the technical name is!!! I guess that was a concern and since Honduras does not have any confirmed cases of the flu as of yet they took great precautions. ... I got bad news yesterday. I am being let go from my job along with another manager. The company is making workforce cuts and unfortunately Colorado Springs had to lose 2. They kept 1 manager that has been with the company the longest. That means both Glenn and I are unemployed. We both feel like God brought us to Colorado Springs for a reason. Please pray and ask the ladies to pray for us. We love it here and want to stay. Pray that we will find Gods will for us in employment and that we don't lose our house before that. - Mel

I had a little six year old boy in my extended family that took a nasty fall and ended up in the Pediatric ICU with a fractured skull and a brain bleed, so I have been really concerned for him and helping some with childcare and stuff.
